“A super fun story! Right from the get go, children’s attention is grabbed due to Lil Del’s birthday situation. Readers then go for a ride along with Lil Del and experience triumph, beauty and perseverance through many exciting (and cool!) adventures. Great book and illustrations – can’t wait to read with my students next year! A gift of a book for every age!”
—Amy Kahofer, >20-year 1st grade and kindergarten educator, Brookside Primary School, Waterbury, VT; co-author of children’s book “What is a Thought?”
On Li’l Dell’s birthday, no friends were able to come to the party except Uncle Buck. Hoping to make Li’l Dell less sad, Uncle Buck gets the idea to take Li’l Dell on an exciting adventure to explore what the world, and life, has to offer. Li’l Dell gets the chance to experience:
- fishing and catching dinner
- cooking over campfire and roasting marshmallows
- camping and van life
- kayaking in the river
- seeing the big mountains
- learning to snowboard, surf, skateboard
- adventurous eating
This vibrantly-illustrated picture book has a soothing narrative and puts forward social themes including: creativity, curiosity, how to try new things, and learning how differences make us beautiful. At its core, Let’s Go See It demonstrates how a bleak or disappointing day can turn into an amazing adventure. Children will enjoy the colorful pictures of the book while parents can feel good about reading a fun, educational book to their children during storytime.
